My car started leaking water awhile back and just finally figured out where the leak was last weekend...O rings. So,I pulled the intakes and broke some vacuum lines in the process...nothing unusual, but I also broke a pintle cap on one of my injectors and found that the injector diffusers were broken and had slid down into the lower intake. Im not to concerned with all the vaccum lines as I want to do my rats nest now anyway. Im still doing my research on that...wanna make sure I cap the right nipples and remove the right lines. Still figuring out what parts I need before I order everything. Ill just put all my questions up in order to make them easier to answer.

1. Im considering doing the TB mod...who has done it and is there a noticeable loss in low rpm power and gain in upper rpms? Is it worthwhile in your opinions?

2. Do I need to replace the little plastic fuel injector diffusers or will the car be fine without them(will not replacing them cause it to not run, bad performance or bad gas mileage)?

3. How easy is it to replace a fuel injector pintle cap? Looks easy enough.

4. As fas I know my fuel injector PD is the original and I know its recommended to go ahead and replace it while I have my intakes off but mine looks fine and im working with a limited car budget. Who has done the banjo bolt PD mod and how did your car do after it was done? Any downsides or problems?

5. Im going to fabricate my own caps for the EGR and such at work since fabricating is part of my job anyway.

Im going to use 1/4" aluminum flatbar for my caps. Will these hold up to the heat from the engine? Can I weld these on or should I just gasket em and bolt them on?

Thanks for any input in advance.

Jeremy

1. ive done all the parts of the tb mod. taking out the other butterflies, or at least making em open right, you get a gain, turbo spools much much quicker. i like to leave the thermowax in there, i like the car to idle when its cold

2. you should, but ive never noticed a difference. i tend to put the broken ones on the secondary, further away = more time to mix the fuel and air.

3. it just pops on

4. imo you should just leave it alone and keep an eye (or nose!) on it. i actually havent seen a bad one in a while.

5. if you wanna weld, just weld the holes shut. 1/4 aluminum should work.

1.... no idea.

2.... i NEVER install them on my engines...but all of mine are boosted engines.

3....just pops right on.

4....removed mine completely when i upgraded fuel systems..

5. I wouldn't weld them on... you never know if you might have to go back stock or have to pass emmissions one day.

1. I didn't notice any difference, but I was doing a lot of stuff to the car at about the same time. I like that it's a lot simpler now.

2. No idea.

3. No idea. I had RC engineering clean and flow test mine. They came back looking like new, with new o-rings.

4. I did the banjo bolt mod and I can not tell that the PD isn't there. There are apparently some concerns about doing this, but my car is not routinely street driven.

5. The block-off plates I've purchased look great and are super easy to install.
