My ecu fried?!
#1
Thats right, my ECU fried like KFC during testing tonight. I still have not even started the car yet, I dont know why it wont start either. Its getting fuel, spark, compression. I dont have the AFM coupled to the turbo yet but shouldnt it at least try to start? and then now the ECU decides to take a crap on things. I was severely hoping it was not the case but worst came to worst. Dead, this sucks.
We pulled the dash to go over wires cause I managed to dmg the dash harness while installing some accessories (drill bit + wire harness = ah ****) that turned out to be fine. my patch work has held up so far. I replaced all the fuses I could under the dash, inspected the ones I didnt have replacements for, they check out. Would placing a fuse for something that is not on the car do this to the ECU? like lets say its not a vert and it does not have a cooling fan relay (not a stock one anyway) would it fry the ECU? I didnt place a fuse for "soft top" but I did for "cooling fan" I also changed a relay under the hood. Might this be the problem?
Someone might enlighten me on this dilemma I have been having with my poor project. She wants on the road sooooo bad. I really do not want to part it out with out even getting to drive it first. everything aside from the tranny and the body is brand spanking new or in like new conidtion. did I mention this sucks?

We found out what happened, apparently its a no no to leave the battery charger hooked up while trying to turn the key over. I should have known better but the racing scene has taken its toll on my once perfectionist mind. I found an ecu to replace so its all good, well sort of. I still dont really know the difference between the relays and still do not have high/low beam switch or turn signal accessory. The four ways do work though. I am just going to concentrate on getting it started though before I worry about turn signals and high/low beams. The rest of the electrical system seams to work for the most part. But anyway, we'll see what the future holds with a replacement ECU. Thanks all,
