Hey guys,

Got myself a factory cd/cassette/stereo (pioneer) out of an 88 vert.

I thought it would be a plug and play but is not really. I have one left over plug. The radio turns on but hardly any sound, if there is sound, there is alot of cracking.

Any thoughts?

My car came with the stereo/cassette/equalizer model.

It might be the pre amp plug for the headrest speakers, assuming you are installing in a coupe.

Yeah, is going to coupe from a vert.

I thought this thing will work since the TIIs comes with the same system.

You need to get some spray contact cleaner & work it in behind the switches *****.

The old pots often come back to life like new.

I have had great luck with CRC brand "QD Contact Cleaner" from the electric dept at Home Depot.

It also is good door lock position sensors, TPS plungers, and all plug connectors.

s4 verts have that amp under the drivers side speaker, as well as one in the storage area under the spare tire cover, and that thing in the dash that can mute the whole system.

I got the whole head unit out of it. Isn't the amp the thing on the side of the radio. The wires on my car side that didn't plug is to the amp that is on the passenger side.

Should this unit work by just pluging in or am I screwed?

I'm leaning towards the unit working, and having a plug left needing taped up. I hope i'm not wrong.
