ok, I'll admit, I'm a retard, or is it rotard? , anyway, fuel injection confuses the hell out of me. Its great when it works, but when it messes up, I need someone else to figure it out, not to mention this crazy *** distributor with no cap :\ Give me a carb and DLIDFIS and I PRETTY much know whats going on (thanks to what I learned here when I had my FB. So I'm VERY strongly considering convering my 90 over to carb... what do I need? car/intake, fuel pressure regulator (or do I need to change to a lower pressure/flow rate pump), distributor and a couple coils. Am I missing anything? And although I'd be gaining simplicity and peace of mind, and having a system that I understand.. But what are the down sides? Any other up sides?

If it makes you happier - go for it. I happen to think carbs are underrated. Obvious downsides are reduced fuel efficiency and harder to tune through the rev-range, but nothing major.

it's time to catch up to at least the 90's. carbs are outdated and totally phased out for a reason. distributorless ignition systems are more accurate, consistant, and flexible compared to the carbs. of course it's your decision but have fun constantly tunning it up.

constant tuning is better than my constant confusion, LOL

at least if its a carb, and something goes wrong, I can figure it out without having to bug the hell out of you guys :P

My 1995 bike engine makes 150bhp/litre on carbs. I won't argue that EFI isn't better for tuning, but it's close and keeping it simple is never a bad idea.
