What are your plans for your 6 port actuators, and your air pump if you take off the cats??? Its not so simple as just ripping them out and having no cats. Get the Bonez pipe with converter, thats my advice, although we went thru this last week didnt we?

Did not realize it was a series 4. Sorry christi. If I remember correctly I also told you a while ago about needing at least a Racing Beat Presilancer with the backpressure pipe on it. Thats why I could not sell you the one off of my TII.

yes sir we did, but I dunno. I just want to get rid of the cats, period. The last thread didn't really answer my question.

If I end up getting rid of the cats completely and able to put my straight pipe in, I'll wire open the 6 ports, or take out the sleeves. Since it's not really necessary. I'll also take out the air pump as well as block-wield it.

Do not go to a Muffler shop they are morons that will tell you that its illegal and they aren't taking a fall for you.

Should I go ahead and do what someone had said above by taking the cats out, and bringing it to them.. telling them I need this size etc?

Yup, I know that. But i've known some people gotten away with going to them and telling them.

Go to some mechanic that dabbles in racing. Tell him you are Autocrossing the car and need a temporary straight pipe you can put on for races. If you word it right you will not get any static. If you cannot find someone to do it tell me I might be able to get a few made and sell them for a really cheap price.

How abouts should I word it right to where it sounds pretty good? Yup, I'll let you know. If I do end up taking it to a guy who knows about racing like you said,

if you autox you don't want to wire your aux ports open. Your low end will be even worse. I suggest (as before) getting the RB header and presilencer setup. Your aux ports will be taken care, youd remove the ACV and air pump, it eliminates all your cats, and will bolt right up to your stock cat-back system.

Man that sux that the shops up there wont do that kind of work. I made mine single exhaust with str8 pipe from front to back.

(Headers coming in NOVEMBER)

There are like three shops that i can think of down here(miami) that do it no problem. :bigthumg: https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/bounce.gif

How many times are we going to go thru this?

If you cant find someone to make you a pipe, your going to have to buy one made already, probably with a converter or a silencer.

If you go straight exaust you will have to at least get rid of the air pump

Perhaps with the rest of the exaust stock you may have a slight chance of the actuators still working, but its doubtfull.

Those are your choices, read this and the other post over and over again and im sure you can make up your mind.

Good luck, your gonna need it, lol

3 things:

ed: the really old rb systems dont look like the new ones at all, i dont think the one i saw had a stamp on it, it was just a round cannister

christi: you want 2.5" pipe for an na, thats what they use for improved touring etc.

banzai: i had an 89 main cat on my 88 turbo 2, it fits the same
