ok, pretty new here, so first im gonna let you know what i drive, 88 rx-7 N/A, 78k original miles. i came across a full racing beat exhaust setup, catback, presilencer and header. the presilencer i have doesn't have the air pump hookup (from a newer style 13b n/a). if i use the exhaust, should i leave the stock cat, or put the presilencer on? will this mess up my port actuators? any help will be appreciated. i also have a full emissions block off kit, with all plates and gaskets, any feedback on those?

Try to trade presilencers with someone? I would keep the stock cat (provided it's not clogged) until you can get a presilencer with the back pressure tube bung.

Block off kits are good for cleaning up the engine bay, but I'm sure you wouldn't pass any emissions tests (so I've heard, we don't have them here).

BTW, 78k miles is awesome.

get the correct pre-silencer, they are not that expensive, the new ones are also stainless.

or get a high flow converter, my car ran the same when I took the silencer off and went with a converter, it also allowed

the car to pass emissions without any "favors"

a shop will have to make a converter fit though as it wont be as long as the pre-silencer.

I got a racingbeat header and bonez high flow cat from rx7.com. I think you can buy just the converter. I had the racingbeat header, high flow cat and a corksport catback on and I passed DEQ except for the sound part, I failed miserably. So I stuck the stock catback on and passed no problem, then somebody stole my corksport catback. I think I'm going to get a racingbeat one now.

The bonez high flow cat has the thing for the air pump on it.

Also....I believe the 86-88's have electronic actuators? Don't they?

thanks for the replys, what i ended up doing is taking one of the presilencers i had (i collected about 3 of them) they all had stripped out or broken studs, so i just drilled out the weld in studs and tapped the hole. so what im running now is a stainless racing beat header, racing beat presilencer, and racing beat full stainless catback. i used one with the air bung thing in it. i love it, performance gains all over the place, and the best part is that it shoots flames now
