Last friday I got pulled over for my loud exhaust as I was getting on I-5. I punched it as I was starting to merge into traffic, got up to about 75mph. Turns out the cop was behind me getting on the freway too, oops! When he came up to my car he informed me (as if I didn't know) that "Something is seriously wrong with your exhaust!" So I ended up with a fix it ticket. I have 20 days to get it fixed, and have to have my car inspected by the state patrol. Any suggestions what I should do? Should I put the stock exhaust back on for my inspection? Or keep my header put a cat. converter in and some pre silencers before my mufflers? Do you think they will look under the hood? I pulled all my emissions crap off my engine. Any advise will be helpful. Thanks.

Oh yeah, forgot to say that I have my emissions test coming up in Febuary, and would like to be compliant to their standards.

That really sucks bro. Personally I would just toss the stock exhaust back on and get the inspection done. I have been through insepction with all three of my rotary's and only one of them had a cat, the others were removed. You get one free run, so if you fail then worry about it. For the inspection I would just toss the stock system on and take her to Bellevue for the inspection!!



Personally I think it's bullshit because I hear all these punks running around here with coffee can mufflers on their Honduh's rattling my windows as they drive by. The deep tone of the rotary is far less offensive then the Honduh's... don't think that cop would like the new exhaust system I tossed on my GSXR on Tuesday!!!

The cop was a young guy, and he was a real dick too, they go hand in hand when it comes to cops. But he was pissing me off so I was a dick right back. I asked him why I don't see all the stupid loud hondas pulled over and that I have not met anyone that has ever been pulled over for loud exhaust. He came back by asking me if I do his job. Then he had the nerve to look up my driving record (that takes forever to do) and said something like "You sure are keeping us (the cops) busy." Every time a loud car drove by I would say "Quick go pull him over!" I don't think he liked that. So when I left I made a point to wrap it out and make tons of noise. What a dick!!! Oh well. Anyone out there in the Seattle area got the stock 2nd gen exhaust I could borrow, or buy???

Sounds like the guy was being an ***, but there isn't much you can do about. Was it a WA state patrol or a local?



I got pulled over in my vert for not wearing a seatbelt, cop told me he couldn't pull me over just for that, but he noticed I didn't have a plate on the front so he would ticket me anyway.. kinda sucked, but whatever.

It was a WA State Patrol. I have always had good luck with the WSP, and even Sno Co. It is all of the local cops that always give me the tickets. I swear Lynnwood PD ociffers must have a picture of me and my car on every dash of all their cars. I'd say about half of all my tickets, which is a lot, were given to me by Lynnwood piggies. They used to follow me all the time when I had a low rider S-10 pickup. I would get SO pissed.

That sucks sounds like the guy was out to get ya. It is pretty crappy cause I hear these Honduh's rattling the windows everytime they drive by, at least when I leave here in the morning on my bike I idle out of here as no to disturb anyone. My 84 is a little loud, no cats and aftermarket muffler, but it's still not half as annoying as the coffee can mufflers with that high pitch whine on the Honduh's.

Man that sucks! Cops are dicks for all the wrong reasons. Are we terrorizing people, NO! We are car enthusiests aren't we? I personnally never got pulled over for that(loud exhaust), which always confused me.



I've been pulled over for 75mph in a 55zone, ...no ticket or warning. Then I was pulled over for no front plate, but given a ticket for tint that was 10% darker then the state limit!!!$86.00 Next, I've been pulled over for no front plate several times one month, AFTER NOT HAVING IT ON FOR 5 YEARS!!!!!!!!!! ticket for $46.00... BULLSH*T. This was also when I had a open header... I have no idea why he didn't even adknowledge it and warn me for that instead. It was too loud for me even, I was on the way to a friend who wields exhaust were I was going to fix it. You get the idea!
