Hey, I have an 88 n/a, I just took the stock mufflers off, and replaced them with glasspack mufflers and 3 inch tips. I have a leak by the main cat, so it sounds awful at the front, but sounds good and low toned in the back. I was going to try and order the gasket online somewhere, but then I found a downpipe that replaces all the cats, and goes from the manifold to the Y pipe. Do you think it would make the car sound really really loud or what? Looking for opinions.

on a scale of 1 to 10 I'd say it'd be a 36.

At least you don't have headers, then it'd get ridiculous.

When I got my n/a it had headers a presilencer and a single exhaust and it was so loud I refused to drive it until I shut it up some.

It might sound bad now with the exhaust leak, but it will be obnoxious without the cat. Replace it with some type of muffler.

Should I get one of those flowmaster high performace mufflers for the center?

I've heard that the flowasters don't sound good at all on rotaries.

A borla on the other hand would probably do the trick.

yea, Borla is prolly one of the best for rotaries. Flowmaster cant hold up to the heat.
