What exactly do you mean by no power? does it move at all? What is it idling at?

you swapped injectors!

you probably put high impedance injectors into a low impedance car.

if you have the resistor pack by the passenger headlight, right on the wheel well (silver block thing with one connector on it, 5 wires if i remember correctly)... just cut the wires before the connector, strip the ends, and twist together (possibly solder/wirenut) and be careful to insulate it afterwards.

this will let you use the high impedance injectors on the car, the resistor pack is there to make the low impedance injectors behave like high impedance.

unless.... you swapped over the harness and ECU also, then this is probably not your problem.

have you checked to see if you hooked up the spark plugs correctly? My friend did that when we swapped the engine on his car, and that's one of those things you assume you wouldn't mess up. It would idle alright and everything, but had ZERO power. My car would get through 4th faster than his would through 1st.

Now i'm confused. I had an 86 engine in my car. i now have an 88 engine. (same thing per se')

They compleatly swaped everything. I did notice the Silver box you were talking about. any downside to doing what you said and just cutting the wire(s) and Fusing them together?

How do i know if my injectors are low/high impedence...

measure the resistance across the two terminals on the injector

if the resistance is around 2 ohms they're low, if it's over 10 ohms they're high impedance.

if you keep the resistor pack and have high impedance then you have extra high impedance and it won't work properly, just cut the wires and fuse it together like you said. There isnt really a down side other than you have some wires there that don't need to go to the fender anymore, not exactly perfect. The other options is to put the low impedance injectors in.

personally i'd cut the wires once you're sure the injectors are high impedance, and merge them... it should be fine.

tHANKS FORTHE REPLY. IT RUNS BUT HAS NO LOW END NOR DOES IT HAVE PASSING ABILITY.

WHEN I BOUGHT THE ENGINE IT HAD A HARNESS ON IT WITHOUT THE PLUG ,IDIDNT CHANGE THE ECU,DO ICUT ALL FIVE WIRES?

yeah you just cut all the wires that go to the fuel injector resistor pack and connect them to eachother... it basically bypasses the resistors.

theres one line that comes to the resistors, and 4 come out... the resistors are in between... when you connect them all it basically just connects the input wire to the 4 output wires (skipping the resistors). you can confirm this by checking the wiring diagram in the shop manual. I had to do this on my car when I used 88 injectors on my 87 with the stock ecu.
