engine problems

engine will crank, converters gets cherry red. then engine will not start.

non turbo 89000 miles, converter replaced

It could be getting flooded. We need alot more details.

I'd say you are running WAY lean causing your converters to get too hot.

How long do you crank it to make it cherry red?

Obviously your a/f mixture is not combusting long enough in the chamber and the combustion is being completed in the exhaust. I'd say you are off on your timing.

Check the air flow meter for loose connections.
