On my way home from school today, my car decided to take a poop. While driving up a 1/4 mile hill, my car suddenly started losing rpm's at constant throttle. So I gave her more gas, and the engine dropped down to about 1.5k in 3rd gear from approximately 4k. While the engine was losing revs, there was a loud vacuum leak/ intake noise from down around the intake manifold. My car is a stock '86 NA.

Thanks for any help,

Eric

spray some carb cleaner see if it runs better where you heard the leak. if it does you just have a vacuum leak. otherwise might be rebuild time. how many miles on it

hmm if you were hearing a sucking noise it might just be a vaccum line off. time to break out the diagram!

Thanks guys, I'll check on those out in the morning. The engine has around 90k on it, but I was hoping and praying it would last a few more.
