The car won't turn over. The weird thing is, whenever I try to start it, it loudly clicks once, and then there's no power. As if something is draining the battery. If I unhook the battery and then hook it back up, power comes back. This is making me think there's a short somewhere. I cleaned the battery/starter terminals and checked for exposed wires. All the fuses are good. Is there anywhere else to look for the problem? There are a lot of wires to check. Possibly ECU problem? The car ran fine before. ****, a week before SevenStock. I've already been working my *** off swapping my suspension bushings.

I've tried different batteries. And a different starter. I'm sure it's a short somewhere. There was smoke coming from the battery. BTW, the car is an FC.

do this check the battery cable. loosen it from the main loom and follow it to the starter. Make sure it is not kinked some where. If the cable is good battery is good and starter is good it should start. If it dont the only other thing is the ignition swicth. but if you said something clicks then it is not that.

What does your voltage read? If you turn on the lights are they dim or do they dim when you try to start it? You can run a negative from the negative side of the battery to the frame rail and ground it that way. The negative for the battery is attached to the block above the starter. There is a also a ground wire running from the top of the block to the firewall near the wiper motor. Might want to check your alternator too.

Yup, just a bad connection. Too bad I took apart the whole harness from the battery to the starter. Man, I'm stupid.
