Hey guys, i was driving my 88 rx7 TurboII AE, last night when i stopped at a store. I drove down with my driving lights on and upon arriving i turned them off. The radio was on, and so was the heat, on low. So i get out of my car and get my stuff and upon driving my car again, all of the warning lights in the center display and the up shift light would not shut off. Also the stereo does not work now, it was turning on without any volume before but now won't even turn on although the antenna will go up. I'm trying to figure out whats up with it, i think its a short somewhere, but have any of you heard of something like this before, it still runs fine but i don't want to drive it much like this. Thanks.

How is the cars voltage? When the alternator is going, the idiot lights will all light up. Have your alternator tested.

just got back, i was down at dunkin donuts and the car almost died, was running on one rotor and limped about 20 feet to a parking spot where it finally died and had no volts to start or even turn over. Looked in the engine bay and the alternator belt was completely snapped in half. Upon more inspection all the belts were really old and brittle, since the altenator belt is the furthest in, i just replaced all of them. PROBLEM SOLVED! Thanks guys. Hope this helps anyone else with this problem, CHECK YOUR BELTS!
