EGT probe location

where is the best place to mount EGT PROBE on a stock s4 turbo? would it be on downpipe or manifold?

and wat are the round bout numbers i could be seeing at each place.

I prefer a bung in each runner in the turbo manifold.



Numbers are going to vary big time from setup to setup. I usually see 13-1600 F @ wot.

i put mine in the down pipe directly after the turbo. but your car will be diff temp then mine depending on your fuel map

I agree with putting it right after the turbo, most accurate IMO.

Wouldnt it need to be in the manifold? egt's will change after they go through the turbo, you need the ones in the maniflold.

I was thinking in maybe manifold also, but unfortunatly I can't afford the great priced pineapple so ima have stick to single for now.

dude the temp isn't gonna change that much after the turbo since they do get red hot plus the idea is to monitor the EXHAUST temp so monitor that which would be after the turbo plus you don't want to put more places of strain. the bung would get red hot right off the block and the back spool from the turbo will give false readings. thats just my opinion do what ya like man. and remeber to keep spinning
