Ecu Question

hi new guy here you prob been asked this question tons of times but here goes.........i have a 89 na i plan to drop a turbo motor in it (same yr) will i have to change the ecu and the harness or just the ecu mind you the ecu is the same yr as the turbo motor and the car "89"

You'll need the change the ecu and engine harness, along with the dash and dash harness..

He is keeping it all S5..so he shouldnt need to change his dash harness, etc...just the motor harness and ecu...





dont forget about ur driveline either man...

the driveline???? the car is a five speed already with a new cltuch

T2 drivetrain is much beefier, to handle the extra power..

if you put the NA flywheel on the T2 motor it will work with the drivetrain you already have.



it's just questionable how long it will last, i see no problem with trying it out til it breaks though.



NA drivetrain is significantly lighter.

NA drivetrain is significantly lighter.
Rotaryman88 weiged everything when he took it out of his car.

The NA dirveshaft weighed 8.5 lbs and the turbo weighed 11.7 lbs.

Not much of a difference. The NA would be lighter because the turbo is built better and the differentials should be the same, as long as they both were lsd.
