I was surfing through ebay one day and came accross a fairly decent looking 86 N/A, seller did not have it listed as a normal car ad, but it was in the parts section. I thought it was for a parts car as low as the bid was, it was even listed as such in the title. So I palyed the ebay game, and threw a bid at it for $450 (had a reserve) well no dice, I did not meet the reserve so I contimplated it being too far out of my price range. My wife looked at the pictures of the car and suggested I wait until I can see the car I was going to buy. I was not having it, and wanted a car now even though I was not returning to the US till the end of Sept. So I waited, I watched as it came down to the last 10 minutes of the auction. The vultures swooped in, and the bid started to rise. $475, $500, $550 (reserve still not met) I thought the hell with it, I'll throw a $750 bid at it in the last 10 seconds and see what I come up with. It was mine, $700 reserve and I hit it @ 3 seconds

This was the description:

This is a 1986 rx7.It has engine problems. It will run but has no power.Has a new fuel pump, plugs and battery.I do not know what is wrong with it and is sold as is.It has 17 inch wheels, front tires are no good rear are decent. It has 3a racing mufflers. The body is decent, the drivers door has a spot that has had mud in it before and needs some attention. The rest of the car shines and looks pretty good. The interior is faded and nothing to look at.It is a 5 speed and shifts and moves but has no power. It could be run up onto a trailer or hauler but not driven.

What really sold me is that the car was 75 miles from my Fathers house in Ohio, and the seller was willing to deliver it for $1 a mile.

Here is what I got (pics form the auction, more to be posted in a few weeks.

No ****, I was considering bidding on that car. I think it looks decent for $700. I'd say get rid of the fartcans first.

oh there are many things planned for this ride, I have almost a complete upgraded FC sitting here with me in Japan right now minus the body. T45s turbo, SDS fuel management, Electromotive HPV-1, ORC twin plate, HKS drag spec coilovers (see them in the running gear section) 3 core aluminum radiator, Cusco 2 way diff (locker) plus much much more.

First thing is to get it running right, next is to get it ready to swap all this in, over the winter.

The exhaust will go up for sale once the turbo motor is dropped in (S5 extended side port)

The car was the most expensive thing so far...
