Lets put it this way...

If its too good to be true, it probably is, just like "The Tornado"

Hot Rod had an intresting letter to the editor a few years back that I always bring up when I hear about these fly by night wonders of the automotive years.

I am not quoting directly to the letter but the gist of it goes like this

Dear Hot rod,

your magazine is the greatest, I have been reading it for years, but I have to complain, since putting on every modification you guys have reccemended I find myself more inclined to stay away from them. Here is my dilema, I ordered/installed every item you have recemended and I have to stop about every block and a half now to let 2 gallons of gas out of the tank, and I have 600% more power now. Increased perfomance and gas mileage has increased tenfold, but now I feel it is too much. Can I say that?

The moral of the story, if the unit claims increase hp or fuel economy what was it tested on? Putting a new set of Splifire sparkplugs on an engine with 150,000 miles that has the ORIGINAL plugs still in it will improve gas mileage

There is a post on this very scam just a few posts down the list... Total scam - yes, in theory it can trick the computer under some conditions - but it's literally a $.50 resistor at Radio Shack. Gotta laugh at the seller's scheme though - he's calling it a "gold" tolerance and claiming it's better than the others out there. What a crock - makes it a $.50 resistor instead of a $.25 one....

Just read through the guy's feedback if you want a second, third, or even 6th opinion...
