I read in a thread where someone suggested to a newbie that he should get a rebuild before doing any mods on a car that has over 140k miles on it. Mine is like that, but runs great. The Mazda place (first place I went) said it had great compression. Should I still need a rebuild? I plan on doing freebie mods, intake and exhaust, and using it as a relatively daily driver.

no don't rebuild. If it has great compression and doesn't burn anything keep it. Mine had 150xxx on it and it ran great.
