I need an engine for my track car. It was belching white smoke and over heating the plates are straight and I can't find the source of the leak any thoughts. The front and rear plates are out of

spec a 2" area on the side seal path is twice as deep as the rest of the wear is this normal wear? I have another motor with 125 k what are the odds of those plates being in spec?
