worst part of owning an fc, is the reputation other owners give you. Plus some people who do sell FC products get so fed up with the "all dreams, no cash" **** that they dont mind robbing FC owners...and then when an fc owner who is serious, and willing to pay comes along, they get screwed.

Thats why i think a lot of the FC guys are DIYers, well that and theyre cheap.

I honestly know ill never get anything close to how much ive put into my car, and honestly it doesnt bother me. I'm willing to pay premium price, but only for premium parts.

lets just say i was disappointed with a certain bumper, a "premium" priced bumper thats was far from a premium product... in my eyes.

Join the club, try reselling an FC after you've had it for a while.

I would seriously sell my GXL if I could get anything for it now, but I'll never get more than 1/4 of what it's worth.. Regardless of the fact it's a rust free chassis and has a bunch of mods.. You sell it to someone in the community, who will pay next to nothing because they KNOW what a good price is (and yes they are cheap), OR the car has to remain totally OEM or else it's not appealing to the non-RX7 owner market

It sucks... you buy an FC and it's a trap!

i was in the club before you?

ive put an inordinate (right word?) amount of money into my t2, to the point where i couldnt get like an 1/8th of what i put into it. The only way i could get close to a decent amount of money was if i showed it all up and sold it as a show car with go on the side to some idiot at a hot import nights show or something.

sell something for $5 and people will want it cheaper

all the "if you had a spare set of tails so I would not have to go without any" PMs and AIMs I got, and only 1 person got thier tails done from the boards, and that was 89RAG who we all know treats his car right

Haha tell me about!

This whole thing started off because I didn't want to put the junk parts on the market on my car, so I make a to4 manifold for my fc, post some pixs, everyone and their mom wants one. I'm like ok cool, I could actually make a buck off this, manifolds are done oh guess what no one has any money....

After being on the boards so long I should have known better

I think you need to actually have a little website/store going on, because 90% of the people with money looking to buy arent browsing the 2nd gen section of nopistons, they are doing google searches or ebay searches with cash in hand trying to make it happen..

This is for all you parts producers.. Dont get discouraged. Lots of new people (new to the FC anyway) are lurking and researching. As soon as my car get sorted out im in the market for a good t3/t4 header. I dont buy into the FC community slander, just unfortunate the bad eggs smell more than the good guys.

i third all this. heres a short list of stuff we've tossed around making, but prolly wont

gt3540 turbo kit, that lets you keep the emissions stuff (street car, i live in ca) OR some kinda of adaptor that puts the air pump on the other side so you can use any turbo ya want...

water to air ic that bolts up in the stock location

pre built haltech harnii, we did do semi built ones for a while

3" cat that bolts into the rb turbo back system, had one on my car.

Ive been hearing that for years. Havent seen anything to change my mind yet. Theres always the occasional exception(kevin, 89rag, etc), but those are just that; exceptions to the rule.

Money talks, and quite loudly as well. Its not a problem finding what you need/want when you have the money to buy. Its just that those people are too far between to justify someone trying to make a production run of parts.

woo im an exception.

lol some parts ive seen you offer (mazdaspeed7) ive been very interested in, mostly interior things, like werent you gonna make door sills or something? Anyway i wouldve thrown my money at you for those things except im not on the interior part of my project yet because i need the car in my possession to really get into doing the interior and right now its getting moved around a lot.

I really want a nice dash overlay, door sills, center console, bla bla bla. hopefully i can find someone who makes all of those things, if the products are "premium" ill gladly pay "premium". Thats normally why i buy one thing from someone first. If it comes to me and i approve ill go out and order 10 more things, but if i get that one thing and am disappointed ill never approach that company, or person, again.
