Thinking about doing my own quick compression test on my dead '88 NA now sitting at the dealer. They can't get to it until Mon. May as well try to save $93 for the diagnosis, then just ask them for a quote on a new motor if it is blown.

I did read some posts on testing. If I remember right, Just hook up the guage to the leading (top plug, right?) plug hole, hold the pressure release button in and hope the guage bounces? How high? Thanks.

Thanks- so it's the lower plug? I'll definitely check both rotors- probably just one or the other.

The picture on your post makes me sad- it is exactly my car! Plus all the money I'm out now!

you do it on the trailing, which is the top one.

Guess I had it right to start with from my faded memory. Thanks.
