Do it, a flat black would blend right in too.

I used the chassis that the radio sits in to make it, its pouring out right now so Im not going to go out there and check. The piece I made bolts to the factory chassis, and fills the whole space in, someplace sells a aluminum one that takes the place of the factory chassis, it holds a radio and gauges.

my car is a theft repo i think. it doesnt have the little cage or even the ashtray.... not to mention the black paneling is broken ... so when ever you get a chance if you wouldnt mind do you think you might measure it ?

I would get the cage/chassis, its not worth trying to make one of those in my opinion, then you can either get a stereo install kit, or fabricate a fascia for it, all those panels brake, thats why I painted mine to begin with, it cracked, I fixed it, and painted it.
