about the UD alt pulley...I had one on my S4 a while ago and I never saw a problem with volts....weird
I was referring to the RB eccentric UD pulley.

Have your work test your alternator. Some places have you pull out the alternator to test it.

Jay, if you think your alt is bad, why dont you just try putting an S4 one in? Forget splicing an S5. I got the lifetime warranty Autozone S4 alt a year ago and the thing is fine. If it doesnt change anything, put it back in the box on the shelf.

Dude, i am having the same Freaking problem with my car right now...

She will not hold a charge. and i've even got a brand new battery/altenator/regrounding kit/batt teminals/everything i could possibly thing off. Took it to discount and had them test it. said my charging system was out standing.. Went inside for a little bit (10-15 Min) came back out and the batt was dead.

I have no idea what is wrong with my car, i even took her to my mechanic (mazsport, LARGO) and scott can't even figure it out. It's really gotten to the point that it's pissing me off, and i dont know what to do about it.

radio maybe?

Do you people know how to check your car for open shorts??

Disconnect the postive battery terminal.

Reconnect it for about 5 seconds to reset the relays.

Disconnect it again and take a test light and connect one end to the disconnected battery cable and touch the other end to the positive side

of the battery ( which of course has nothing else connected to it at this point)

If your test light lights up, you have a open short somewhere.

Now comes the fun part, pull out fuses one by one until the test

light goes out, when it goes out you have the culprit of your short.

be sure to do the fuses one at a time so you dont forget which ones go where, and to keep the door light from going on as well becuase that will

signal a false short.

If all else fails take your car to a pro, stop thinking they are so exotic and let a pro work on the car. A electrical system is a electrical system, a Mazda is no different then any other car in finding a short.
