Hey whasts up. I posted on on another thing on how my car wouldnt start

Broke ALternator belt, so that lead to a tool kit all new good years belts a optima battery , new battery terminals, new NGK plugs and wires etc. A $5.29 job turned into $320.00 but my car was fine. But ive been noticing a weird idle. Very rough and idles lower than 750 RPM.. i Put a new battery and the voltage fluctuates between 14 and 11. Like eratic surges or what ever. But i know it aint the battery sinces the car only needs 320 amp my battery has 910. I think it could be my alternator. But sometimes it runs fine at 14 volts day and night and sometimes its a 12 or 13.

If it is my alternator can i put a s5 alternator which has 80 amps comapared to a s4 which has 70 amps. ?? Will i blow all my lights lol.. I work at autozone and i checked the alternator they got in stock and it looks like the one in my car. It has a lifetime warranty but u will be changing it every 6 months lol. if any recomendations on alternator with good warranties.

thank you , Jason R

might be flooded. Something about the oil seals or something. I know it not starting up cuz it floods, or hell the fuel pump seems to go on this car too. The experts can help you out over here. But I read flooding, and fuel pump as two culprits.

nah check it . I already unflooded it..Thats why my car wouldnt start but i thought it was my battery so i bout a new one . When i was in the process of unflodding i saw how the plugs looked and i was like i might as well change em. I think its my alternator. Just want to know if i can put a s5 alt into an s4 safely without injuring my baby 7

Didn't you just get a new alternator? The low idle could be causing the alternator to spin too slowly. I had that problem with the RB underdrive pulley. Also, did you replace the fuel filter when you did your tune up? That can cause a crappy idle. Also check your TPS.

low voltage can do wierd things like that too. i would check all of the connextions first, there are 2 on the fuse block under the hood, and then the b+ on the alternator. make sure they are clean and tight

The S4 alt and the S5 alt have different connections in the back and I'm almost positive its not a direct fit..with some clipping and rewiring the connectors, an S5 alt should work...

about the UD alt pulley...I had one on my S4 a while ago and I never saw a problem with volts....weird
