I'm set on just buying a TII instead of doing the transplant. It will cost me the same about, and prolly much less swearing and violance :sigh: . I was just wondering what promblems to look for on an 88 TII 10th anversery ed. That wouldn't know from owning a 88 SE. I'm just waitin for the tax return.

get a compression test, make sure it doesn't have a hot start problem. a few easy ways to see how healthy the engine is

Awww...come on boy. I'm Rotaryman88 and I have an 88 SE w/ a Jspec in it...Rotaryboy88 should have one too!! The dynamic duo..I can see it now :sigh:

Just kidding...save the heartache...the only reason I didn't just buy a TII is because I didn't want the weight, and I had already grown to love my SE!

If you mean swap a TII in it, you need all the gay ****.

I have heard, but do not know if it is true, that you can use the driveline off an automatic rx7 and it will mate up to a TII tranny, and a NA rear end. But if you do that you won't want to launch too hard or you'll break ****.

Well, I don't think that the auto driveshaft is the way to go, its not the right size. If your gonna do the T2 swap, you'll need the T2 tranny, you can use the GTU one, but it may not hold up as well, you'll need a T2 driveshaft, rear end, and halfshafts. Thats it for the drivetrain.
