ok, what about the hole in the catalytic converter, i've heard that if there

isn't enough backpressure in the exhaust the motor can burn itself to a crisp

and the hole is pretty good sized....o and most of the exhaust donuts rotted when the exhaust was put back together after the clutch change :P

burn the engine to a crisp?? I don't know about that but it definitely doesn't help.... If you have holes in your cats from rust then chances are they are clogged too, time to replace them. It's a lot cheaper to replace the cats with a pipe and presilencer or high flow main cat than buy OEM replacements plus you'll get more power.

ok kewl, what should i look for, i mean i don't want every cop in caldwell county being able to hear when i am coming from 2 miles away...it's ok to be loud, but i want to be able to hear afterwords...and will that pass inspec here in a year or 2 (**** that I'll worry about that when it comes, forget the inspection thing), i have a catalog that is all 1st-2nd gen Rx-7 parts and it has a dual outlet dual exhaust by Monza that looks pretty nice and is only 273$ is that a good price and decent exhaust? it's cat back tho......

Whatever you do, don't buy the ****** Pacesetter/Monza *****... that was my first cat back several years ago. After six months, rust holes were developing around most of the welds not to mention it sounded like ***.

Do you need the entire exhaust now or just the cats? If you can't afford both and your cats are bad, spend the money on the cat replacement pipe and presilencer/main cat assembly. That is probably the most HP per dollar first mod you can do on an NA... check them out at racingbeat.com and rx-7.com

yeah i think i blew a bigger hole in em tonight, i flooded it and i couldn't remember how to do the fuse thing, and i didn't want to come all the way back to the house to find out....put a pretty good sized dent in rear quarter panel, i feel stupid now......it started after a bit and blew white smoke for about 2-3 mins (i assume cuz of all the extra gas) andso i revved it hard when it started and it hasn't sounded the same since..

page 57-58 Fuel and Emmission control on Factory Service Manual. My car did it until i disable the aws system. And yes it does it regardless of the tps. yes a new 2nd gen would do it. And no it will not bouce as you say thats way too much, that is a misadjusted tps.

3rd gen section.
cool...

well i've owned my 91 n/a for 4 years...it just starts up, revs to 1500...then calms down to 750 once its warm...no bouncing

my T2 does the same. never experienced the bouncing when the TPS is set properly
