Default Boost question

This might be newbish, I've searched and searched on google etc for an answer but have found nothing. Anyways, I recently got a boost controller, and i was thinking, would running more boost yield better MPG? Theoretically, more air, means the gas burns better? right? Please correct me if I am wrong. Right now I'm running 5psi, was thinking of turning it up to 10psi at the most.

Thanks.

If you've got a boost gauge, you can tell when you are boosting and how many psi you are running. You will notice that at cruise and while gently accelerating, you are not actually in boost. Maximum boost is achieved at higher engine speeds and at throttle positions near wide open. Needless to say, this is not where your engine is sipping fuel, but rather gulping it. Turning up the boost may get you more power, but it will come at the expense of burning more fuel.

Before you turn up the boost, be sure that you have the supporting mods to ensure that you are giving the engine enough fuel. Probably nothing has killed more turbo rotaries than turning up the boost without giving the engine enough fuel to keep from running lean. Ten psi on an otherwise stock TII is asking for trouble, IMO.

Thanks.

The fuel system is stock. But I've got 3inch from turbo back, street port and 3mm apex seals. So in order to upgrade the boost what soul I need? Bigger injectors? FMIC?

Fuel pump first, then bigger secondaries and a way to tune them (rtek, s-afc, etc).

Could you provide any links to these products? Such as fuel pump and fuel iinjector size?

Thanks.
