Well the stock size phone dial tire is 185/70/14 for the FC. There aren't to many performance tires available in that size. Like Jerk Racer said, you can find more perf tires in 195/60/14 if that's what you're looking for. One thing to keep in mind is that Tire Rack and some other places won't sell you a tire that is lower overall diameter or rating than what is stock. In other words, if you tell them you have a 1988 RX-7 base for example, you can't get a 185/60/14 tire due to some lawsuit against Sears a couple years ago. I think the early Miatas come with 185/60's stock so I just say I have that when getting a 195/60 for example (which is still smaller than a 185/70). They actually called me after I placed an order over the net once and said they couldn't sell me the tires I wanted.. just FYI.

185/70? Wow. I forgot they were that size. Not much in that size for high performance tires. Probably nothing. But there's a reason for that.

I've ordered all sorts of tire sizes from The Tire Rack over the years. They have yet to give me any problem with my car. The first time I called they set up an account with my car and my name. I told them I needed 225/50 for my 16x8 wheels and they obliged. I don't ask for advice when I call. I call to place an order and that's that. But I do call and speak with a person when I order stuff from there just so there is no uncertainty of what I want.

A 195/60R14 should have (all things considered equal I guess) 96% of the diameter of a 185/70R14 tire. That shouldn't make much of a difference at all with the speedometer readings. It will lower your effective gearing a smidgen if that means much to you.

I ordered some 225/60/15 tires from tire rack a few months ago with no hassle. They called me afterwards to tell me that the tires were incorrect for my vehicle, but they still sold them to me.
