Bad Hail Storm
#21
Rob I just went and saw the insurance guys today. The cost of all the repairs was just over 2k. This is with them forgeting to put down for the damage to my front fenders and light covers. I don't have 2k to spend right now. I wish I did but I don't. If I did I would deffinately pay for this myself.
I see what you're talking about with the claims. They usually don't count too much against you when you're not at fault. I think I just going to have to suck it up and take the hit on this one with my insurance company.

sorry to hear it, I know sometimes money isnt easy to come by,
we all have been there. You can try trimming the fat on that insurance claim
by looking for ways to make it cheaper, like the CF hood with the scoop ( you
could paint it, I would ), those headlight covers are cheap and can easily be found used and are available aftermarket by the way.
Have you considered paintless dent removal? I just had it done
on my GFs car, she had dings in every panel, I paid $125 and
the guy did a GREAT job, I paid shop cost of course, but he did
4 doors, a fender, and both quarter panels.
The process of PDR was developed for hail damage initially.

According to the insurance company, they usually try that method first(if they think it will work)and go for replacement parts last. I guess the guy who proccessed my claim felt that PDR wasn't good enough and decided to give me replacemant price. I'm almost sure that the fenders can have PDR to get them fixed. Right now I just want my car fixed. Ever since the Haltech install everything has been breaking. I guess this is my year to break stuff.
