probably, it is there to compensate for altitude. the shop manual and the parts fish call it different things, hence the confusion

so its not a necessity but it is recommened to have.I need to get one just to be sure its not a missing part and that the car idles fine.

it would make a difference in the mountains, its there to compensate for altitude
