Alltho I'm not so sure about Mazda's new slogan...I guess it's OK.

At any rate I did the ATF thing to my car this weekend and man what a difference! A lot smoother and quite a bit more power! I'm thinking of doing it again after about a week as I did not get the huge clouds of smoke out of the car that I was expecting upon starting it...not sure I got enough ATF in there. I'm assuming it's not something you can really over do right?

While I'm here, when I pulled the old plugs out of the car I noted that one of the trailing plugs was actually a leading spark plug. Obviously the car ran but I'm wondering what the effects of that would be?

If the plug wires were mixed up and a trailing plug fired before the leading bad things could happen, but if it was just the wrong plug it's not a big deal.

The wires were fine after I got to the car, before that one of the trailing wires was off the coil. After I put it on, the tach wouldn't work and you got this really annoying beeping noise, so I got it home and swapped it with my other coil and life was good.

Either way, the car runs better and I think I'll do the ATF thing again as I feel here may have been some issues with the car running the way it was before, etc.

The ignition systems on these cars are actually pretty darned cool. I wish ah warz smarts enoughs to have thoughts of it! Hyuck.

Many people run Leading plugs in the Trailing holes. I did for a while when I was having fuel issues (flooding) which I resolved.
