apex seals
#2
they will run with a cracked apex seal from my experience and sound weird but when you rev it it will "purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr"sound broken
but with a broken or chipped apex....its ifi...some times will with a broken apex seal it will start up fast and "purrr" then slowly turn off, other time it just wont turn on because the compression is too low
but before you assume its broken make sure you check the spark(plugs) and fuel(injector), then compression test it . it will sound broken when running on one rotor

will the 13bs run with a blown apex seal? and if so or not what r some signs that the apex seal is blown?

whold a broken or craked apex seal cause it to over heat?
I don't think it will cause it to overheat, apex seals usually just have to do with the compression and the running of the motor. You might have a stuck thermostat or a bad water pump.. I can't tell you exactly what it is, I'm not a rotary geru, so I'm not 100% sure.. that would just be my guess. You could have a cracked side housing or something though, which might cause it to run badly and if you're leaking coolant into the rotor housing, burning it could cause you to overheat.. but that would just be my guess. Or I could be DEAD wrong on both attempts. Haha. Either way, I hope it helps.

Generally,
You can cook the inner and/or outer water jacket o-rings in the motor if you overheat the car just once from a broken waterpump belt or bad thermostat. These broken o-rings will cause coolant to slip by into the combustion and make the car overheat and smoke like crazy. Otherwise, the engine still runs normally.
If the engine won't hold an idle while hot, it could be due to low compression caused by weekend apex seals (cracked or chipped), worn side seals or even bad corner seals.
If the engine starts and idles, but is fairly lumpy and acts sparatically below 4500rpm its probably a blown seal somewhere (front or rear rotor).
If it wont start at all, its a dead motor, lol.
These statements all are just referring to apex seals as there are MANY different reasons why your car wont start, has a sparatic or lumpy idle, etc...
Simple solution is to do a compression test - if it's ok, your apex seals are ok.
