Any body have any tips for me. I have a 82 12a. It all started when,,, my clutch disk exploded then the next time I started it, it was smoking bad(exhaust), with moter cold, checked auxiliry oiler,, nothing, not a drop, so, then we added oil throught the carb with engine runing and all smoke stopped and the engine was warm by then as well . I love my rx7 but I can't afford to buy a new engine. This is the second moter in that has been put in w/60,000 to 70,000 miles on it. Rebuild or ?????????????

help please! [B]

Hey Rx7rookie,wooffinn here. Firstly I don't think the clutch problem is related to the smoke problem, just happened at the same time. sounds like a mechanic's nightmare, clutch blew up and now its smokes, AHHH!

The Aux oil meters don't add a vast amount of oil, but if's there's none at all, I'd check that now. Without the meters adding oil I can garantee you'll be replacing that motor VERY soon. Was it blue smoke or black smoke? Blue usually means it's burning oil and black is fuel. Also a quick check of the plugs should give you an idea. Just seems unusual that it stopped smoking when you added oil to the carb. Remember that oil can act as a seal so it may of got the side oil seals working better. Did the smoke come back after a while? ???
