After seeing the various porting pics for N/As on this site lately, it seems that the gap between the secondary and aux ports is narrowed to almost nothing and the intake opening and closing is left as is. Well, has any one just merged the 2 completely? Mazdatrix faq says not to do it but why bother leaving just a 1mm gap between the two? Anyone done this? With what result?

 

you would probably mess up the flow characteristics....
