hard to see i took this pic of the exhaust manifold... the right port is the front rotor with a slimey oily sludge

a nice close up view of it.. don't mind the coolant all over everything..we won't go there *doh*

looking into the manifold

still have my apex seal woowoo

I'm guessing from the mess and oil consumption (along with smokey exhaust) it's my oil control rings on my front rotor that are going shatty. I guess a rebuild is in my new future.. this motor made it 3k miles. I can't think of anything I did wrong that would cause this to fail so prematurely..

shatty pics but it's hard to get light and the digi down there. Don't mind the peice of glass in the front rotor exhaust port thats' what is left of the light bulb from the trouble light *doh* wasn't my night.

If it's from the PCV system.. that was cleared up.. almost 2k miles ago if not more..

just little added info. I don't have the OMP i'm premixing ..

did you find anything wrong with the front rotor oil seals? wear? incorrect assembly? small badgers?

that's a pic from my other motor.. not the new one that's in the car currently aka smokey *** motor.

I just finally took it apart to look at it.. and learn more about the motor.

*edit* i'm trying to decide if i'm going to be competant enough to undergo this task myself since I'm rather strapped in the mazda rebuilding fund since I just did this 3 months ago.
