I wonder how well a street/strip clutch would actually hold up to drag racing/street use... assuming it was rated for more than enough torque.
My buddy smoked his clutch disc with his stock twin turbos and all the bolt on mods. Got about 20 launches at the track and a couple of screwing around street burnouts out of it. I think he had street rubber on the car, not drag radials. Not to good. He ran a 12.8 on the last pass he did, and the clutch slipped completely on the way home from the track.

zx2-hdss is the part number for the ACT clutch im getting hd stands for the Heavy Duty pressure plate and ss stands for the SS stands for the ACT Performance Organic street disc.

The presure plates comes in three types 1: Hd= Heavy Duty Pressure Plate

2: XT= X-treme Pressure plate

3: XX= Max Extreme

The discs come in 5 styles but the last two are for racing and the SS is the top of the line for street use. After that its only for racing.

So ihope that helps you in deciding what ZX2-Hdss means, and oh the ZX2 is the vehicle applications. Dont ask me why it should of been RX7-HDSS right

I bought an ACT Xtreme pressure plate and SS disc a year and a half ago. Installed it last year with an RB 12lb aluminum flywheel and I would never want any more weight on the flywheel than there is now. It is an expensive upgrade though and you'll also have to invest in a $25 socket to remove the old flywheel and install the new one.

the act stage 2 clutch is rated at 260 ft lbs.....i dont think a PP/or bridge ported motor makes even close to that torque

The guy I got my haltech map from has a stock s4 block that is making 300ft lbs of torque on a hybrid turbo ..... Anyhow thats kinda of what I am wondering, there is a ACT street/strip clutch I am looking at that is rated for up to 440ft/lbs of torque, But can this handle high rpm launches and last a long time???? I mean if it could what the hell would be the point of 6/4 puck clutches?? cuz those are just harsh.
