This is a theory of mine, Not sure if this is what actually caused it. Ok, every time I shift into 5 gear now, the gears grind. This is because the sychro's are shot, when I bought the car 4 weeks ago, they were fine. I think I and a few friends who have drivin' my car have destoyed them. Has anyone redlined in second gear, then accidentally shift into 5th? Ive done this a few time, same with my friends. I think this is what made them crap out. So, guess from now on, I'll be double clutching into 5th, its all good, just makes me a better driver

Try some Redline MT90, it might help it not grind. But if it is fully boosted like mine, you can just match rev and keep going. I have done this for the past 5 years.

the synchro is not strong enough to handle a 2nd to 5th shift.

How the hell do you manage that kind of misshift? No offense but the t2 tranny is pretty tight and its easy to tell what gear you're in.
