This afternoon I hooked up a system to my friend's 86 GXL, I pulled it into the air pump hose, then into a valve then into the actuators. With my air compressor I could make the ports open easy. But with the motor, nothing. If I adjust it right they with move alittle on idle down, but thats it. Not even with the valve wide open at 6k, nothing. Ideas

did you open up the exhaust? becuase the s4's required back pressure from the exhaust to open up the 5/6th ports.

I did the air pump mod, so you don't need the exhaust. There are no cats to supply the bad pressure anyway.

I dont know about the air pump actuation, but on exhaust actuation the ports only open under load, not in neutral.

Its not like stock anymore its setup to where the air pump provides the pressor the exhuast used to.

Did you try operating the actuators by hand? They should move easily.

And they will if the mod was done properly. It did for me, no load required.
