5th and 6th port, Air pump
#1
I'm going to remove the air pump soon and also want to mod the 5th and 6th ports to run off a compressor instead of exhaust backpressure. I read about it somewhere but was wondering if anyone had done something similar to this, or if anyone might have some advice on doing something like this to my car.

I wish I would never have touched the ****.
I added a racing beat header,wired the 5th and 6 ports open.
For what reason-hell if I know now,a damn stock *** civic runs as fast if not faster than a n/a s4.Sorry but its true if we want a fast car it has has to be turbo charged. In my opinion all your doing is hurting the motor.

I still believe that the response that is gained by doing things like fully electro-pnuematic 6 port actuation, throttle body mods, Air intake Mods, And setting up the right exhaust, running premix, and wiring in an ignition amplifier are more than a turbo itself can provide. Response to me, is just as important if not more important than just horsepower. Gettin rid of the cats, just one of the ways to achieve this, yeah and I am lookin at the RB header, it looks good.

i just wired my ports open and put up with the lack of low end, cause the top end responce greatly outweighted the downsides...
once i tried to rig up a type of crappy 12v air pump setup with a RPM switch, with theair pump i used i ran into problems with the ports taking a few seconds to open and not closing for a few seconds....
i ditched that idea and startd working on a electronic solinoid type of setup... but i sold the car now so i never completlyed it and im turbo now.... the electroinc method definitly sounds ike the most efficent method though!!

It seems now that trying to open up the 5th and 6th ports can cause problems in the torque area...I've heard that it is strongly reccomended that the ports are thoroughly before trying to open them up via electronics and stuff...

take the cats off the tII and add a 99.00 fuel cut switch and your in the 13s easy
the n/a will never be in the 13s--unless you want to spend thousands!
