[quote name='1Revvin7' date='Jul 22 2005, 10:33 AM']I can see the BAC in that picture, its on the top manifold. It has a hose going to and from it, its that round black clyinder. The ACV and EGR are most likely gone. If the car won't hold an idle, and dies when you let off you have a very large vacuum leak. That car looks scary, I would go through the entire engine bay and fix all that ghetto work.

Yea someone has done their fair share of ghetto fabbing things. Rather sad being as how the car is perfect in every other way.

Well I have replaced every vacuum hose I could find. Car fired up instantly but it runs really odd.. It wants to crank up to about the 3k-rpm range then if i dont tap the gas it dies. Funny thing though is all I have to do is barely even touch the gas an it will go up to about the 5k-rpm range, and it backfires like mad as it decellerates. Could this be a TPS problem, or do you think it may be a vacuum line that I may have overlooked?

I can't tell, but it appears that someone removed the thermowax system on the side of the throttle body. If they have, and they have not removed the fast idle cam; it will idle around 3k. TPS is not your problem. Are you sure you don't have your throttle cable too tight?

It doesnt idle at 3k tho, it doesnt idle at all.. I have to keep my foot on the gas to keep it running. As soon as itr fires up it goes up to about 3k then just totally dies. I checked the throttle cable it isnt too tight, also the coolant lines have been removed from the throttlebody, should I have these capped off instead of just being open? If I had any idea I was going to have these kind of headaches I would of never bought it.. Im strongly considering putting this thing on ebay lol

no one likes a quiter. Why buy a sports car when you know its gonna have problems. If you wanted something that ran everytime, go buy a econo 4-banger.

I dont have the time to work on it. I just started a new job and im out of town through the week. Here in 2 weeks im going to be gone for 3 weeks straight, home 1, then gone 3. This leaves no time for the car. When I bought it I wasent aware I was going to have so many problems with it. Im sure it's something simple that im probably overlooking but I really am running out of time to mess with it.
