ok finally got some honest times at the track.

Stock motor, unfinished air intake, car weighing just about 3000 lbs (had 2nd seat in, cage, full tank, some tools and crap) Street tires, stock pressure plate, 4 puck disc w/ springs, and a Clutch pedal to close to the floor for fast shifts. Enough whining, just trying to give you all a baseline to compare.

Best time was a 16.217, just under 85 mph. I think the car could get into low 15's with race tires, cold air intake box finished, and less weight, (what do you mean less beer?) . A more experienced dragstrip driver with the pedal adjusted properly might see 14's, but I think the planets would need to be in alignment or something.

Said I'd own up on what mine can do, best of luck to the rest of the NA folks!

I finally got a new clutch. I took it to the strip and got her down to 16.4 with frozen 5th and 6th ports. I changed all the fluid in the tranny along with the rear and made sure the gears in the rear were in spec. Much better than before but i am slowly peacing together a turbo motor so the 14's will be possible in the near fuiture.

My suspension is all original. I do not think it was ever changed. The reaction time could be lower but the clutch was slipping and the car is BONE stock. My LSD is gone but likes to grip when it wants to. Like i said above i know the reaction times could be better but that was my FIRST time actually drag racing.

are u sure u have a LSD?? no 91 NA's had lsd stock ...... those 60fts seem like 1 tire fire ones too me ( at least thats what i was getting with an open diff)

in comparison my old 87 base model bone stock with messed up ports ran a 17.3 as well haha

I was just curious to know, and the Hondas I was against left more embarrassed since my non turbo and the ol man beat them by usually a second!

It was a tuning test, my ports are stuck wide open, too, so bottom end gives up some.. Was a fun get together for local RX7 club

I dont feel so bad about my beater NA GX now, header and gen 1 safc with catback netted me a 16.38/89 best... Only 198,000 kms on original motor.....

P-port na is ready to go in now with TII transmission.. Then will run at track again..

N/A's are SLOW in a straight line. Sorry, that's just the way it is... especially stock and unported.

Yup I kept daring the folks to do a full lap with me... Braking, turning and Momentum out of the corner is where we can win. Oh yeah.. did I mention reliability? No greedy boost and or nitrous and other computer silliness. (ok not yet) so motor should live a long time.
