ok, i have a 20b, but i dont know what to do with it. i have a fc that needs a motor, and was wondering what would give me more power:

option 1

20b, mild streetport, cold air intake, 3" exhaust

option 2

s5 13bt, 3 rotor kit, streetport, cold air intake, 3" exhaust, stock turbo

option 3

13brew, 3 rotor kit, streetport, cold air intake, 3.5" exhaust, stock twin turbos

i think the 13b engines would be easier to install, and im not sure, but i think they are shorter. however, i like 20b's, but mine needs a little work, and if i dont use my 20b in my fc, i will probably build a tube chassis mid-engine drag racer for it to go in. no matter what, i will be using my 20b, but id like to build a 3 rotor 13b as well. any help will be appreciated.

At first glance, more powerfull would be Option 3, then 2, then 1.

But you have to be more clear with your power goals.

How much power are you planning on making? This will determine your engine choice a lot easier.

What drag class do you want to compete in?

A 13B will more than likely do the job in any regard.

If you want to base whatever you choose on your 20B though, I wouldn't see much point in removing a rotor to make it a "13B"

What about 20B with it's stock turbos intact? You can make 500 hp on stock turbos with stock engine internals with around 14-16 psi. (of course you need upgraded external components such as intercooler, wiring, piping, EMS, etc)

I suggest keeping the 13BT in your FC, as a 20B conversion is always much more work than it seems at first, and a LOT more money spent when you really don't need to have one there to attain the power levels you probably want for your car (under 500 hp i'm assuming).

Take the 20B you have sitting around, use that in your drag chassis, fitment won't be a concern for you then, and the limit for power production is as high as the sky, while still retaining somewhat reliability.

Even with stock turbos and pump gas you can make over 500 hp.....

Rebuilding will cost you some money. Even if you do it yourself

You might do some research about the so called "3 rotor kits" and turbo charging them. Its also not as easy as you think and gain is mininum or non at all (usually for those who can't buy 20B). Since you say you already have a 20B, I don't know why you would consider 13B 3 rotor kit?? Doesnt make sense to me. Also, sounds like you have somewhat of a deep pocket, since considering mid engine 20B, tube chassi, drag car... Do your research as you are getting into some serious stuff... also, more importantly, you need to start thinking about, what your going to drive this for (track, street, drag etc), how much power, how big of a turbo, what ecu, etc.. The purpose for building this car is very important as stuff your putting in will be based on it. I think building an engine is the easy part... if you have someone to build it.

well, i know the 20b swap isnt easy, ive done it before, and the only reason i want a 13b 3 rotor is to have something different. and im kinda broke, i just have enough crap laying around to build my tube chassis drag car. i think ill use the 20b in the drag car, and just use my 4 port n/a in my fc for now, then probably swap in my 13brew. im just having some trouble getting my 4 port n/a running right, and its pissing me off, but i think a 3 rotor kit would **** me off more, but thanks for the help.
