I'm going to attempt four engine swaps soon. Well five if you count the GLC. The only one that worries me is the Cosmo because I've never pulled its engine before. All four of my four port 13Bs need new homes for some reason.

Yep. I'm going to figure out a way to restore the red REPU, the MG will get a just-starting-to-smoke 13B with a decent amount of power, the Cosmo will get a recently rebuilt engine and a stickshift, the white truck will get an SC prepped engine, and the GLC will get the 20B.

The above will allow me to correct a couple mistakes I made last year. The only cost will be two oil pan gaskets and one RX-4/Cosmo flywheel (it's going on the Cosmo and will get a slightly used RB SS HD clutch and P plate hehe).

I won't bore you with any more of the details other than to say it will take a lot of work, but the rewards will probably be worth it. Again, the only one I'm worried about is the Cosmo.

The white REPU has a steady idling oil temp of 192ºF measured with the compost thermometer down the dipstick hole. Ambient air temp was 59-60ºF. Water temp never got above 190º (I didn't really look very hard at the water temp guage, but it was near the tick below the 190 mark). It has a 180º thermostat.

Part of my engine swaparoo includes the GLC's SC prepped 13B going into the white truck. Now that I have a baseline reading, I'll be able to see how well the oil cooling is on the GLC's engine. I bet it'll be the same barring any vacuum leaks that I haven't found yet.

Why not restore the cosmo instead of the REPU?I know they are both rare in the US but what makes you want to fix the repu up more than that ultra rare cosmo?

Are you saying it would be a bad idea for me to convert the Cosmo over to a manual?

Aren't those cosmo's rare in the US?I thought a original car would be worth alot to the right collector. But hey.I prolly would try to modernize it by dropping a 3 rotor in it.

I thought of that once.

So far I've only upgraded the igniton system. I might just hold off on the swaps for now, or at least until the 20B is running right. I just needed to bounce the idea off of you guys.

The white truck is running really well. It's not as quick as I'd like it to be, but I can live with it for a while. It looks like the GLC's 13B will go into the red truck. I may swap them if and when I get an SC, but not right now. I can't afford to mess up my only decently running vehicle. Then again, I might try dropping the dellorto on it (funky idle and all). Uh soon... maybe.

Man I've gotta get that Atkins manifold and test it on my 20B soon. I'm so amped to do it right now. A little Mountain Dew before bedtime will work wonders.

20B audio clips.

It was just sitting on some blocks of wood in my driveway (no car attatched).

It'll rev but won't idle, which is the opposite of what it was doing last week. All I did differently was open up the primary runner in the temporary carb adaptor and add a fuel pressure regulator.

Just unzip and listen.

Does it sound like I've got some vacuum leaks? Doesn't that starter sound tired? Tell me what you think.
