I'm actually going to have phinsup change my avatar from a Simpsons based one to a Ren and Stimpy one that I saw on a R&S forum. It's larger than 20k, so only he can change it.

 

I want to get a pic when you have the mock up done.Just to say someone out there is craizer than me and mike.

 

I took two pics of the cuts before I test fitted the tranny. I'm actually not even going to use a mockup. I'll be poking the real thing in there. There's lots more to take pictures of, so I won't be taking any more of the tranny tunnel, but I'll get one or two of the tranny and engine when they're in place.



Once everything is fitting well, I'll take them both back down and wait for the tranny gasket to get here. I still need to order a flywheel and do some more work on the engine.

Heh, you are correct, sir! A couple years ago I called Pettit and they said it's a better idea to test fit a mockup first. That's so you won't accidentally drop the 20B. Good advice, but I don't have that kind of time.



Last week I had very little time, but this week is fairly wide open. I hope to get the 20B in so I can start fitting the radiator and oil cooler. After that, I've got to start spending money.



Mike, I've got my eye on some Edelbrock carbs. I remember that a 20B needs a 4.0L carb on an open plenum. I have a choice of a 650 and 750CFM. Which should I get?

 

id be tempted to go 750. actually get like 6 su's they are variable venturi so you cant oversize em

Heh, I've never worked on an SU carb before. I wouldn't know a dash pot from return spring. (my Midget already had a 12A in it when I got it)

i just rebuilt mine they are super simple, its amazing nobody else used a similar design

For what it's worth, I plan on doing a Mock-up with the bare block to determine cut locations

 

Yeah, I've got a bare block here. I need to get an oil filter blockoff so I'll know how much to cut from the upper corner. I guess I could just remove the oil filter pedistal and tape on a piece of carboard to represent the blockoff? I also need to make room for the heater hose. I might just run my oil pressure fitting on the remote filter mount. Hmm...
