Are these rack interchangable?I need to get the wipers working on my 83 so it can pass a inspection so I can drive it again. Are these racks interchangable???On ebay people are saying that the 79-85 racks are interchangable but I want to know for sure before I start to tear into both FB's.

Thanks

Luis

whats wrong with the one you have? if the motor is in good shape but the wipers arent moveing, do a search on here, there was a write up about somethin in the assemblys that tends to wear out.. my GSL-SE wiper's worked for a while then stopped while it was raining and i had to help em by hand.. but if i'd have taken the assembly apart, lubed it, and replaced a couple small piece's, it would have worked just fine again..

I put a rack from a 79 on my 82, I don't think you'll have any problems. I also thouight it was easir to rplace than repair....but I'm kind lazy......

When I took the stock rack off I thought it was repairable.I noticed the other day the threads on the brass sleeves were stripped.I have one coming in for it now tho.I asked mazda about it and they told me that the racks are different in 84-85 I don't see why tho.

I needed a new assembly anyways.Plus I took both out and yes they do interchange.I wonder why mazda listed two different numbers Just like my front cable for my e-brake every part 84 and newer is a new number
