i was under the impression that that only changed the mixture at idle. nevertheless i did just set that the other day after setting my tps. it says how to do all of that in the fsm.

my exhaust is black and it is getting black stuff on my bumper. its not burning oil or coolant. cracked head?

https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif really though, i do have that problem

it could be a few things, if its a slow buildup the cat might just be bad, it will turn the whole right rear corner of the car brown with no cat

to kinda reply to everyone...

the buildup isnt all that slow, and if you watch the exhuast you can tell that its black.

the cat is the one that was on it when i got the car, i am the one that said it was glowing, i dont know anything about exhaust but the guy who did the muff said it was normal. maybe its not? what if i just ran a straight exhaust to the muff in the stock location? i know that some of the port actuators run from the backpressure so would that still work correctly if it was straight?

probably on the same page as this problem, when i have just started the car and start driving, after its warmed up of course, if i get on it right away it will blow a cloud of white or blue smoke when i shift through all the gears. this happens when i get past probably 5k, but only the first time i run through the gears while im on it. does that make any sense?

p.s. im not using oil or coolant.

wait is the fuel pressure regulator hooked up to anything? if its open you're gonna be way rich in the midrange

you mean the fpr in the rail or the fpr solenoid buy the dynamic chamber?

the fpr bone is connected to the fpr solenoid bone which is eventually hooked up to the intake manifold.

Shane.Trammell 01-29-2005 04:48 PM

still not clear but heres what i know. the solenoid is connected to the vac line but the nip that points under the dyn chamber has nothing on it. i think thats how its supposed to be. as far as i know the fpr itself is hooked up, i guess i havent really looked but i will
