The 1st gen is 55.9" and the 2nd gen is 57.1"...
is 1st gen steering really that bad? only thing i really notice is that on the track you have to help straighten the wheels too.
the play mostly comes out with adjustment, and the effort is on the high side i guess but it has better feel than the fc did with a manual rack, and the fc manual rack is super super slow ratio
You really don't need a 9" ford rear. Diretfreak has that because he abuses his drivetrain. You should be able to get away with using a TII rear end. It seems the TII rear end is stronger than the FD's?
Plus that 9" rear end is HEAVY.

fbs have live axle rears while fcs have irs
