Renesis Twin Turbo In 3rd Gen Rx-7
#1
hey i was just wondering, with the renesis being a fantastic engine (award winning and such) if anyone has yet tried to put one in a 3rd gen rx-7. Or better yet try to put twin turbo on a renesis in a 3rd gen rx-7.
just a thought, i figure it would be a great idea. hp out the wazzoos and some decent torque.
let me know

The exhaust ports are a lot smaller and split, so I'm not sure how that would effect the spooling of a turbo. you can see the 13B ports on the rotor housing, just not milled out...the exhaust ports are hard to see, but they are directly under all three sets of intake ports (the middle one is split).
Also I hear the computer is a b!tch to hack or control...don't know of a stand-alone yet???

yea!... since the twin turbos were such a hit on the 13brew.... the idea of a low boost single turbo renesis in an FD isn't a bad idea though.

An engine is just an engine. It's dumb. Throw a carb and a dizzy on the mother and it will run. If you're going as far as a twin turbo renny, a stand alone should be no problem-o.
Turbos would require custom manifolds all around.

A nice highly tuned NA Renesis/6 speed combo in an FD would be my cup of tea. Nice very reliable powertrain with enough power to be very fun, in what is arguably the best looking rotary powered car ever.....
