Any body got pics of thier Turbo II swapped first gen rx7.This is my future planned project and would love to see your pics of the engine bay.Im just looking for some different ideas and such.Dont be shy with your pics.Thanks.

I am almost done with my turbo II swap.. I still need to do a bit of wiring, fab the transmission mount, and get a blow off valve.. [attachment=44965:turborex.JPG]

How was the swap? what did you have to do, how tough was it? my gslse i love but i want more power out of it. Its N/a with about 165-170bhp

170WHP out of a gls-se is pretty damn good.



I had to get a custom driveshaft made. that ran me $340

you will also need a front cover from a GSL-SE or one from a 12A will work also.

Racingbeat.com sells a custom engine mount bracket that makes things a lot easier.

The wiring is pretty easy you only have to hook up like 8 wires.

The custom tranny mount is really easy.

I made a 3 inch turbo back exhaust for it and that way pretty easy also..

First gen's are really easy cars to work with...



I just did the swap so I could give you all kinds of info. I just dont have the internet right now so my time is limited...

oh yeah you also have to make a custom oil return line for the turbo.

when you swap the motor, you'll need to use a GSL-SE oil pan also. but im not sure if the pick-up needs to be changed to the 12a or SE one??? anyone know this?

Yeah the 12A OR the gsl-se oil pick up will also be needed ( they are the same part number)

this was my inital configuration, presently upgrading to a front mount intercooler with a series 6 throttle body and manifold
