How was the swap? what did you have to do, how tough was it? my gslse i love but i want more power out of it. Its N/a with about 165-170bhp

170WHP out of a gls-se is pretty damn good.
I had to get a custom driveshaft made. that ran me $340 you will also need a front cover from a GSL-SE or one from a 12A will work also. Racingbeat.com sells a custom engine mount bracket that makes things a lot easier. The wiring is pretty easy you only have to hook up like 8 wires. The custom tranny mount is really easy. I made a 3 inch turbo back exhaust for it and that way pretty easy also.. First gen's are really easy cars to work with... I just did the swap so I could give you all kinds of info. I just dont have the internet right now so my time is limited... [attachment=45014:S5030948.JPG] |
here is a picture of the custom driveshaft.
[attachment=45015:S5031013.JPG] oh yeah you also have to make a custom oil return line for the turbo. |
Here's mine

when you swap the motor, you'll need to use a GSL-SE oil pan also. but im not sure if the pick-up needs to be changed to the 12a or SE one??? anyone know this?
|
Yeah the 12A OR the gsl-se oil pick up will also be needed ( they are the same part number)

this was my inital configuration, presently upgrading to a front mount intercooler with a series 6 throttle body and manifold
